Which Air Jordan 1 is better: the “Gold Toe” or the “Patent Bred”?

While patent leather was first used on the Air Jordan 11, it was first used on Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe, the Air Jordan 1.

The Air Jordan 1 “Gold Toe” was released in 2018 for the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities. It features a Black patent leather upper with Metallic Gold accents on the toe box, tongue branding, and heel panel. Other details include a White side panel on the lateral and a Black side panel on the medial, as well as a matching midsole and rubber outsole.

The Air Jordan 1 “Patent Bred” is a glossy reimagining of the iconic “Bred” colorway set to release in 2021. It is constructed entirely of patent leather and features a signature Black and Red upper that sits atop a White midsole and a Red rubber outsole.
