Unreleased Air Jordan 7 “Ken Griffey Jr.” Sample PE

Former Jordan Brand NRG team member Frank Cooker shared this unreleased Air Jordan 7 Sample PE for Ken Griffey Jr. – a longtime Nike athlete and MLB Hall of Famer who also has his own “Swingman” line with signature shoes like the Air Griffey Max 1 – a shoe that provided the colour inspiration for this design – on Instagram.

This Air Jordan 7 was created for Foot Locker’s 1992 Slam Fest, a dunk competition for players outside of the NBA that included luminaries like as Barry Bonds, Chris Carter, and Deion Sanders. Mike Conley Jr. won the tournament that year by slam from the free throw line. Cooke also says that, although partnerships were not common at the time, things might have been different if Griffey Jr. had worn these Air Jordan 7s. The insoles of the shoes also featured Swingman and Jumpman emblems.

Take a look at the images below, and don’t expect the Air Jordan 7 “Ken Griffey Jr.” PE to be released anytime soon.
