Marion Franklin Rudy, often known as Frank Rudy, is the engineer who invented Nike’s Air technology, which permanently altered the footwear industry. Nike produced the Air Tailwind, the first shoe to use Rudy’s “Air” technology, in 1978. He was able to patent the technology that was advancing the “Revolution” in 1980.
Nike Sportswear will release a new model of the Nike Air Max 97 in Summit White, Black, and Safety Orange to honour the current engineer. It’s made of mesh, leather, and suede with EST. 1997 printed on the lateral Air unit, his name printed on the lace tips, and blueprint insoles with technical artwork and his signature. The design and concept are completed with an air pressure hangtag.
