Nike launched the Air Force 1 “West Indies” in the early 2000s to commemorate the West Indian Day Parade Carnival, which is celebrated annually on the first Monday of September in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
From 2002 to 2005, four distinct colours reflecting West Indian culture were introduced. Nike will bring back the OG 2002 colorway in 2022 to commemorate the Air Force 1’s 20th Anniversary and 40th Anniversary.
The colour palette is White and Classic Green. This Nike Air Force 1 Low will be faithful to the original 2002 release. It has West Indian branding on the tongue tags, lace dubraes, and an embroidered lateral heel in Caribbean hues. Graphic insoles listing all of the Caribbean’s tiny islands round off the design.
