The belongings of Kobe Bryant did not renew a new divergence with Nike. As per the sneaker industry insider Nike Depaula, “Vanessa Bryant did not extend the contract. Kobe and Nike are moving apart”. Bryan’s most recent deal with Nike ended on April 13th, 2021.

Back in Decemeber 2020, venture capitalist Shervin Pishevar explained that Kobe Bryant was not amazed at Nike’s deal before his going through and intended on leaving the brand. His ultimate aim is to embark a player-owned journey of an independent sneaker company called Mamba. Shervin even provides detail in a mockup of the show for the Mamba brand.

There are still multiple Nike Kobe series to release in 2021, this model will be the very last for the time being.

Nike’s Official Statement:

“Kobe Bryant was an important part of Nike’s deep connection to consumers. He pushed us and made everyone around him better. Though our contractual relationship has ended, he remains a deeply loved member of the Nike family.”
