Nathan VanHook drew inspiration for the Nike Air Yeezy 2 from classic Nike silhouettes including the Air Trainer 1, Air Foamposite One, and the Air Tech Challenge 2. It was the second and final sneaker designed by Kanye West for Nike. It was released in two colorways (shown) in 2012, followed by the infamous “Red October” colorway in February 2014.
The Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Pure Platinum” was released in June of 2012 and features a Grey upper with Bright Red accents on the collar lining. In addition, it features glow-in-the-dark outsoles.
The Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Solar Red” features the same color blocking as its predecessor, the Air Yeezy “Blink.” In addition to the same distinctive details, it also has glow-in-the-dark outsoles.
